It was year 1969 when the Department of Economics came into existence at this College. Since its inception, the department is committed to maintain highest standards of scholarship and research. It has earned a reputation for qualitative teaching. Special attention to the regularity, punctuality and sincerity of a student in class is given. The Department has a support system of Computers, Photostat Machine, Internet, LCD Projector which are accessible both to the teachers and students. The department regularly organizes seminars to give exposure to the students. Along with teaching, the Department encourages student’ participation in academic programmes and extra-curricular activities.
