The Faculty of Arts comprises six departments. A brief description of the various departments is outlined below.

Department of English

The Department of English was established in 1969. It works consistently towards the development of English language capabilities of the students. At present, there are no permanent faculties in the department. The college has hired guest and part time teachers to provide quality education of English to the enrolled students.

Department of Hindi

The Department of Hindi was set up in 1969. The department has a glorious past and produced noted scholars and researchers. The goal of the department is to make students proficient in Hindi.

Department of Maithili

The Department of Maithili was established in 1969. Maithili is an ancient and beautiful language spoken by a large number of people in north eastern Bihar. The dept. aims to undertake high quality teaching in the language and enrich its literature.

Department of Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy was set up in 1969. Currently, there are no enrolments in the dept.

Department of Sanskrit

The Department of Sanskrit was set up in 1969. Sanskrit is one of the most ancient languages in the world and considered to be the language of Gods. It has a rich literature. The dept. is engaged in providing students a platform to learn the language in an efficient way.

Department of Urdu

The Department of Urdu was established in 1969. Presently, it offers UG programmes in Urdu.
